Taken last Sunday afternoon (19/01/2014) on "Glorious" New Brighton's promenade.

There is often some debate about wind farms and whether they add to the view or detract. I can say that from our point of view we really like our wind farm. We think it gives a point of interest on the horizon. It gives a sense of scale and it is fascinating to look at at different times as it appears to move depending on the weather conditions!

I tend to agree with you Steve regarding windfarms. While they contribute to cleaner means of energy, they are also interesting subjects to photograph. Your photo is a fine example of their photographic properties and your composition is quite artistic. Bravo!.

The thing that goes the farthest, towards making life worthwhile, it costs the least and does the most, is just a pleasant smile.

I am getting used to seeing the wind turbines, and those on the horizon look attractive. I like the curve of those things in the foreground, too. Nice shot, Steve.

The foreground/composition is very good, I'm not sure how I feel about them yet, they are kind of interesting, and there is a huge on in Ohio, that seems to go on for miles. Tigs♥ =^..^=

I too like the foreground and the wind farms do add perspective.
One day they will be as common as the cold. :)
Another good one Caruso.

Windfarms in my opinion are much better than the widespread of wire pylons!...

I love the forground here Steve...leads the eye to the turbines

Steve, in my comment on the first image of this series I've already said something about wind turbines, so it's not necessary to repeat this, so I can limit my comment this time to only your image.
The composition is a interesting and well balanced one. The foreground has created depth to it and leads our view to the subject matter. Well done.

Regards, Cornelius.

Beautiful shot Steve - THe promenade looks nice and so do the wind turbines in the distance. n Germany there is a lot of dispute about wind energy as it is subsidized and the more they build, the higher the cost of electricity for all consumers. It was meant not only as a natural source of energy but also as something that will reduce the cost of electricity.

Personally I do not like the view of the Aeolian which in my opinion spoil some landscapes, even if they are very useful for the production of electricity.Great capture, Congrats.

Great composition for this one Steve - the turbines are a good inclusion.
To me in general they are a necessary evil and I don't like the look of them. NZ is ideally suited to utilize wind being in the path of the Roaring Forties so I guess we shall be seeing more and more of them despite the 'rent a protester' brigade.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

To summarise and put an end to all the discussions on the wind farm scenic aspects I would like to present my valuable opinion [Eeyore speaking here ! :)]
In the final result you, Steve, achieved here most interestingly asymmetrically symmetrical image or symmetrically asymmetrical one.
Most pleasing too.
Not too many windfarms in our area but there are some.

Well, I think the big Turbines (windmills), they are so huge and do save on energy and are also very fascinating to watch. Wonderful shot
