This view of Liverpool's two cathedrals was taken from well over a mile away using full X21 magnification on my Samsung Galaxy Camera.

The massive neo-gothic Anglican cathedral is in the foreground. This is the largest protestant cathedral in Europe and the fifth largest cathedral in the world. The modern Catholic cathedral can be seen to the left of the Anglican. It was built in the 1960's and our friend LynEve worked on it back then (I'm sure she could have only been about 6 years old at the time!). The two cathedrals are about half a mile apart and are connected by Hope Street.

Lot's of praying going on in there, Steve. I'll bet they even have a direct telephone line to God. Nice in B/W.

I see some cranes flew in from Hamburg, Caruso.
I didn't realize LE was a former construction worker. :)
Good shot.

Oh my, so much history and it's amazing one of our dear friends actually help build this huge Anglican church. Super shot for the challenge, also like the street name connecting the 2 churches, very appropriate indeed. We are Anglican and I would love to see this one inside

Wow, the church is massive & makes a perfect focal point. I like how you did this in B & W. Thanks for the info too ... it's interesting that our dear friend, LynEve, has a connection to the newer church. Excellent capture.

Of course I shall have to keep this one ! I don't think I have seen a view of the 2 Cathedrals from this angle - it works very well. Nice one Steve !

My mother was confirmed in the Anglican Cathedral.
Yes I was only about 6 at the time of my connection with the Metropolitan Cathedral - I was very advanced for my age ! I was just reminiscing about those days today as I sent my UK Passport off to Liverpool for renewal. The Passport Office is in Old Hall Street, as was the Liverpool Office of Sir Alfred McAlpine & Sons in the 1960's, who were subcontractors on Paddy's Wigwam. .Happy days and fond memories of all the characters I met there.

Would love to have this in the BWC (??)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
