This is The Britannia which docked in Liverpool today in the foulest weather of the whole summer. Britannia is P&O's flag ship and is the largest British cruise liner.

The Scots have a wonderful word to describe this type of constantly wet weather and it is "Dreechit".

Still got a fairly good shot in spite of the poor visibility Steve. In Hamburg they call it "shietwetter" (meaning sh. weather)

Stand the Britannia up on her stern and she'll be taller than the skyscrapers in the background. Good one, Steve.

Talk about dreary! I usually just stay home on days like that. I commend you for your efforts. Well done.

Certainly does look dreechit weather. Definitely not crackin' the flags on that day ! The beautiful new Britannia looks good against the skyline.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
