The low pressure compressor from an aircraft engine. (Shot in the studio using a 500W Starlite, small photoflex silverdome, and a small white reflector)
I love this image. It's almost an architectural piece. Love it from the sweeps, angles, and patterns of the blades to the textures on the base and edges. Wonderful and original subject idea. 10 and in favorites
Yet another great picture. You don't post many, but your images display quality. The point of focus on here is excellent, and the lighting, or lack of it, brings out the abrupt features of the subject. I agree with Tracy.
Awesome picture. I actually downloaded it a long time ago, but didn't comment on it. This is one of my all time favorites from Caedes. Good work! Keep yer shutter snappin!
Will, I wish I could vote on this image. I know you must be just a little disappointed in the c-index, but this image (though not a good desktop because of the crevices into which icons can disappear) is art at its best. Your use of light to bring out the geometric lines of this ordinarily mundane object is really an inspiration to me. The texture and the curvature of the subject are masterfully rendered, and the use of a wide aperture allowed you to bring the viewer's eye exactly where you wanted it. I hope lots of others see this and draw the lesson I did. Thanks.
