Your vertical treatment of the potato famine memorial conveys strong emotion, probably even more than a landscape view would. This format allows a close up of the woman's face up front and, although there's a figure on both sides missing here, they are similar images; on the left a man carrying a potato sack, on the right a man carrying either a sack or a small child. Here you have the essentials of the sculpture, including the dog and the man in the back with a young child draped over his shoulders. Plus your contrast and clarity is great for the woman, with an expected slight bokeh effect as we move to the back. Powerful stuff. I see it's not an entry in the Photo Journalism contest... you might want to consider that before time runs out. -Nik
