This lovely butterfly is called in Holland "Landkaartje", which can't be translated so I give it it's Latin Name "Araschnia Levana". In summer (2nd generation) they're bigger and got “more black” on their wings.
Another nice butterfly shot! I didn't know they like thistle. We kept a wild patch in our garden because it attracts gold finches. I'll have to keep an eye out for possible butterfly hits.

Heb je deze dit jaar geschoten....de vlinders zijn nml.nog al schaars dit jaar.
