Wonderful subject and nicely composed. Pity the light did not help you more.

"What other reason could there be to get up in the morning except to set ourselves free." If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.

Wow I love it! This photo really makes me want to visit the monument. The monument makes me think of "The Brick Train Sculpture" by David Mach, close by to where I live. But it's obviously a much more tasteful sculpture where you are! :¬) Ste P.S. If you want to see the sculpture have a look at http://www.aeiou.co.uk/darlington/tourism/brick-train.htm

Stephen, thank you for visiting Leather Lips and by the way, I did check out David Mach's train (thanks to your url), at Morrisons Shopping Complex. Very impressive, as well!

What an interesting sculpture, and very nice you posted this. I like the angle from where you took the photo. NO lips leather lips....weird, a bit spooky too. V

Well someone was very creative--I like these larger-than-life sculptures, as long as they're done right (there's one at a small-town golf course in my state of a large tin golfer holding a driver up high. I drove by it years ago, after the head of the driver had come off during a storm...it looked like he was holding his willy!). I wonder what it looks like with early morning or late evening sun hitting it from the side?
