How many miles did you walk last Saturday, 100? Are you a mailman, fog, rain, sleet, snow etc........? Just kidding. What a great photo Ground and tree's looks like they've merged into one. Like the Three Amigos in foreground and their shadows. Good eye and great shot, John.
Fantastic carpet of leaves. I love the shadows of the trees and the contrast between the full branches and bare branches. Great work. You are also very lucky to live near such a beautiful place.
It's quite the experience you're leading us through with these shots as the light and the mist progressed during this walk. I'll walk another hundred with you and your talented vision.
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Love this... Has a crisp, cool, autumn morning feel. I can just imagine sitting down in that bed of leaves, having my devotions, all the while breathing in the moist cool air... Beautiful! Keep it up!
P.S. If you get a chance, take a look at my gallery. Any comments, criticims, advice, etc. on any of my pics would be greatly appreciated. Have an awesome day!
