Advance of the Storm was taken yesterday while I was in Mt Sterling, Kentucky. We did get a dusting of snow which disappeared just about as fast as it came.

very nice. love the way everything below the sky is still, as though the houses are waiting for the storm to hit.

Great shot John. I love the sky, and the color of the houses. I also like the diagonal of that good looking fence. Super.

John, do they have you fenced in or out? Imagine a whole town with a fence around it. Great photo of rooftops, treetops and that gorgeous sky. Did you buy that historic home? You really did good on this one. Be careful driving home.

I love the emphasis on the sky in this image. The sun is hidden behind the clouds I expect. Something seems about to happen in this image and I like the definite contrasts of dark and light. Great post, John!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I agree with Cindy, there is definitely an air of anticipation in this image.
I really like this John.

A lovely image John. I love the contrast of the shadows with the brightness of the sky. It does look like anything could happen! Well done.

I'm not sure what type of effect you used on this or how you processed it, but it's a perfect shot of an impending storm..not just the visual but also the emotional...truly a great piece..into the folders it goes!!

Wow, those clouds are really threatening. No wonder you wanted to stay close to home! Hope you managed to run for cover.

Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.

What a wonderful shot. The sky is magnificent with the bright blue sky ahead of the louring clouds. This is a really dramatic shot.
