Do they have horse races there? LOL. Get it?...like Churchill Downs. OK...dumb joke. Anywho..that's a nice clear shot of those woods and river. I like how that tree is being held up by the fork of the other tree. I wonder how long that will last. It's a very nice winter image, John. I see that it has not been cold enough, long enough, to freeze the water that much. Same up here.
Looks like the place "Where trees go to die." I love the lines and reflections. The fog seems to be lifting a little but it still adds to composition of photo. Great muted winter colors. Nice photo John.
I agree with the word ^^ haunting. This is an excellent shot, John, I like the way the fallen tree creates a diagonal, teh composition is truly excellent!
"'Life is not a journey to the grave with the
intention of arriving safely in a pretty
and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up,
totally worn out,
and loudly proclaiming,
"WOW! What a ride!"'
Love the white on black that the coating of snow gives the trees and landscape. It always amazes me how a scene can be transformed by the seasons...

Oh, I do love this series...The composition is simply gorgeous, and I love the look of the water, the reflections and the fog. Excellent work John. + faves
This is a lovely capture! Hope you didn't get trench foot shooting this! There seems to be a lot of water about! I love the colour tones of white, brown and black. Also the reflections. Well done!

A very great composition, all these trees with their symmetry. Your pic in bichromy is gorgeous, the brown and the white are well dispatched. Another wonderful image my friend.
