You compose because you want to somehow summarize in some permanent form your most basic feelings about being alive, to set down... some sort of permanent statement about the way it feels to live now, today.
(Aaron Copland)

A composition is an arrangement, built out of parts, that aims at seamlessness.
(Eric Maisel)

The diagonal gives energy to a composition. To jumble and tweak the balance is my spice of preference.
(Gail Siptak)

I usually have an immediate recognition of the potential image, and I have found that too much concern about matters such as conventional composition may take the edge off the first inclusive reaction.
(Ansel Adams)

Did you put this in the 'Dreamscape' category, John? It is so fantastical and well done. I get the feel of a Maxfield Parrish painting in this really fine composition. You have a special talent for bringing these images together. Your muse is definitely working overtime for our enjoyment. lol Some interesting quotes you provided too. I am still thinking about the Ansel Adams one.

it reminds me of a memory, the way memories show up inside your head, sometimes half real and half dream, one image often overlaying another... Just now in my life I'm seeing this kind of vision a lot in my mind, places more real as memories than they are right now in reality... "In space things touch, in time things part." --- E.M. Forster, A Passage To India

How wonderful this feels to me John! The softness of the whole creation is so good. There is such a nice simplicity and the splashes of colours make the whole thing almost a surprise.
Yet the dreamscape effect makes me get totally mezmerized with it. There is a special uniqueness about that 'layering effect'you have mastered. And the write up? fantastic!! I will truly enjoy this special creation of yours! Verena

I agree with Ansel Adams. When you see the shot in your minds eye and take it, don't let that culprit on your other shoulder change your mind. I think that culprit is getting close to being chased away permanently Shads. Great work.

Happy Father's Day

Original creative mind scape. I like what Mary said about memories. The flashes and layers of time. Love the colors and imagery.

I had just a moment hesitation - John [casechaser] or Verena. Decided for Verena, but alas I was wrong which is seldom.
In any case 10/10 in VB !
