This photo, "No Hills to Fall Down From" was taken a week ago but draws its name from an outing I had this weekend. While out walking at Highbanks Metro Park, I unexpectedly slipped and fell down a small hill. All on my left side, I skinned up my knee, elbow, shoulder, and face. I was a mess but I properly protected my Canon from all potential evils. As you can see, there are no hills in this scene. It is a nice safe place for someone like me!!

John, My good friend I like the color tones and detail with the textures as well. That sky is a perfect compliment for your image. I can so understand about the falling and saving the camera, been there- done that. Lol! More than once!

Awww John...most of all I am glad you are basically alright! Even tho I know the feeling of 'skinned' owie places!! Hopefully it will all heal and no bones are broken. Camera are so expensive, so I am happy you were able to save yours from any bad evil. This is a lovely photo. A most lovely place to sit and read or write or just "be"..I enjoy the looks and feeling of that lovely Weeping Willow tree too. Take very good care of yourself, no more hills for awhile!! Rest and baby yourself..:) Verena

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly, like a millionaire intent on going broke

It is best to learn the tuck and roll for situations like that Shads. Sounds like you were fairly successful. This scene is a flat as my wallet. I thought about saying Olive Oyl but I figured it would be crude. I like all the lines in this one.

Well, most of all I'm glad you saw to it that your camera came through the fall unscathed... I would expect nothing less from a true photographer! Seriously, I'm glad it wasn't worse. And I ought to know. You're shot of this nice flat place is lovely, btw, I love the willow tree in the sunlight...

I'm glad you are OK, and that your camera is OK too. If that would happen to me, I would probably be lying there for quite some time. Love this shot with the big deck and that gorgeous sky. Super lighting too. Very well done. Be careful getting off the deck. LOL.

You were very unlucky John. Think any good photographer has a kind of instinct to protect his camera. That you are a good photographer is clear to me, but because of other reason than only protecting your camera, lol. This image proves what I was just saying.

You should have kept your camera rolling John and see what effects and scenes you would have caught on your way down!! ha ha Hope you heal quickly and you go carefully next time youre out there.
This is a lovely view of this platform and I like the lines and shadows falling across it especially that fence surround. I also like the backdrop to the platform with that tree and sky. Lovely all round shot John, well done!

Lovely scene you have captured wonderfully, John! The Weeping Willow is one of my fav trees! Great lines, shadows and sweet lighting here! I might have been tempted to crop out the can and sign, but that's just me. I like how the darker trees on the left are leaning towards the water. Beautifully done!

p.s. I do hope you have recovered from your fall... ouch!

Sorry to hear of your fall! Photography can be dangerous.....keeping the footing while keeping your eye on the shot is quite a challenge at times....but be safe from now on. Love the photo.
