From this view...It looks like an old Victorian-Era street scene...

John - Your creative eye saw this image. At first glance it is a bit creepy. But, as you look at the details of the lighted area, the warm lighting reveals a by-gone era and there is a comfort in it. Well done - best of luck in the contest. Thad

Inspiring composition and presentation. Definitely does have that walk back in time nostalgic mood. I enjoy the dark as well as the low lit entrance to the scene. Excellent work.

This makes me think of Jack the Ripper lurking in shadows. Excellent composition, John.

You must be a Gumshoe Shads. It has that feel. All it needs is the smoke from a cigarette coming from the shadows. Wonderful composition. One of the best I have seen for the contest.
Good luck.

I love darkness and shadows in art. It's so gas-lit London I'm not sure how it ties in with a Center For Science and Industry but I'm glad it was there. It turned out to be a lovely scene with lots of intresting details to see.

Such a mysterious and dramatic feeling is given off by your lovely photo!! Looking thru an arched doorway like that sure makes one think way further ahead. The way the light is flooding into that area is wonderful. I do like this very much. Verena

Q: Why did the blonde get so excited after she finished her jigsaw puzzle in only 6 months? A: Because on the box it said From 2-4 years. Q: How do you confuse a blonde? A: Ask her to alphabetize a bag of M&Ms. Q: Why are dumb blonde jokes so short? A: So brunettes can remember them.

The open view has the look of an old world town, that I like very much! I also like the colour contrasts, and the warm cozy lighting seen through the windows. But, I'm especially enjoying the composition that gives the viewer the feeling that they are under an alcove looking out. Wonderfully done, John, and congratulations on placing in the doors contest!! :)

I have only just viewed this today. Tremendous capture. The lighting provides the sensation of warmth, an invitation for a good experience. One wishes they were there, to absorb what it has to offer. Bravo on this photo, composition could not have been better.
