The Start of a Spring Shower

This was once the location of a wooden castle. Built and financed in 1992 by the city and by the neighbors, it was enjoyed by generations of our children.

Recently, it was deemed by the PC people to be too challenging for today's kids. And it could be dangerous, too, as children could fall running from tower to tower and having children fun.

So, it was decided, and, it was removed.

In the sometime future, less challenging and less dangerous things will be placed on this spot where kids use to play and creatively dreamed of being in a castle.

Same here but in our case [of course the undersigned were just out walking !:)] it has been a violent thunderstorm - we found a shelter at a small firewood sale shed on a market place...
In your case again it looks rather warm although fresh while here it was a cold pouring rain... Some guys have all the luck! LOL

Wonderful image John. Hope you didn't got soaked like I did, lol.

Have read you narrative with interest as well. Of course I understand the parents who try to achieve optimal safety for their kids, but 'protecting' them that way is not always good to them. I can remember very well that in my childhood I often came home with some scratches on my face, because I've experienced 'adventure' and 'challenge'. It has not make me weak. Think it's on the contrary, lol.

Regards, Cornelius.

I don't understand why folks that enjoyed things when they were young, don't want their kids to do the same.
The world is full of grouches, Shads.
Maybe they should keep their kids out of gangs if they want a safe world. Just a thought.

They don't want obese kids, but they don't want them to exercise either. Sheesh! Maybe they should just put some kids benches there and just make them sit still!

I know Health & Safety have to be paramount!...but in today's society..it goes a bit too far!

Remember our childhood..swinging from tree to tree...having 'sword fights'..(You must have face protection now)...

You still got a delightful capture here old friend

It is the same here...kids today are becoming bubble-wrapped, over-weight, and losing their social skills...a shame to see it happen...and a shame they removed the castle here...the kid in me would have enjoyed it...but I can still enjoy these lovely trees and lighting...nice shot, John.

If you stare at an orange juice container because it says, "CONCENTRATE"...you might be a redneck.
