Waterfront Memories was photographed along the Scioto River, northwest of Columbus.

“Why the Egyptian, Arabic, Abyssinian, Choctaw? Well, what tongue does the wind talk? What nationality is a storm? What country do rains come from? What color is lightning? Where does thunder go when it dies?”

~~ Ray Bradbury, “Something Wicked This Way Comes”

"Happy Fathers' Day" to all the dads!!

I think this well portrays the nostalgia and scariness that Ray Bradbury mastered :)
I am off to buy a lightning rod !

Nice one John :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

It looks that's just about the time you can start smelling the rain coming. Love that smell.

Thanks :)

I agree with the other SOS members on this image - as to Ray Bradbury and your staying safe on the quiet side of the river:)

I agree with the others. John, the deep color tones, and contrasts are striking. Tigs♥ =^..^=

Difficult questions in your narrative John. I'm afraid that I can never provide you with the answers. Like to join however Lyn in her comment, because she has expressed my feelings very well too.

Regards, Cornelius.

Great Bradbury passage to accompany this very fine image...and beautiful scenic view with just the right casechaser touch, not exactly scary but you can sense 'something' in the air...Happy Father's Day, John.

If you stare at an orange juice container because it says, "CONCENTRATE"...you might be a redneck.

A great looking scene with lovely deep rich autumn colours. Nice shadows in the image.
