There's an old west cafe out in the badlands of western North Dakota where people vie for the opportunity to sit at a special table. It's made of a 6" thick crosscut of a western cedar tree, an oval about 5' by 6' in size. the edge is deeply contoured because it follows that natural curve of the original tree. That's the first thing that came to mind when I saw this image, not necessarily the world, but rather a small but special part of it for me.
