All in the town were still asleep,
When the sun came up with a shout and a leap.
In the lonely streets unseen by man,
A little dog danced. And the day began.
Rupert Brooke, The Little Dog's Day

No, my dog used to gaze at me,
paying me the attention I need,
the attention required
to make a vain person like me understand
that, being a dog, he was wasting time,
but, with those eyes so much purer than mine,
he'd keep on gazing at me
with a look that reserved for me alone
all his sweet and shaggy life,
always near me, never troubling me,
and asking nothing.
Pablo Neruda, A Dog Has Died

Beau, Jimmy Stewart

I'm not sure about a puppy wearing a bow but what I first saw gave me a flashback to the Richard Gere/Laura Linney movie, the Mothman Prophesies. That's what I always like about your imagery, John; different people see different things in it. Is your last name Rorschach, by any chance? ;o]

I agree with Nik, very great work because it's open to perspective. Mine reminded me of Mulan. Like she was kneling but with a bow in her hair so her father wouldn't know she had joined the soldiers. I do love both movies however.

I agree with 'Nik' about 'different people see different things in it'.
The oval face, and the big eyes in combination with the too small mouth, is a perfect example how to draw the attention of the viewer with an exaggerated artistic expression. In that respect you've succeeded in doing this perfectly, John. However, I don't know yet what you want to tell us more. Your narrative doesn't offer me any solace this time either. I continue with puzzling, so it remains an intriguing creation for me.

This reminds me of the girl from the movie "The ring" with bows in her hair.

Perhaps it's something of the influence of Nik's comment or just the way my mind works but I'm not seeing the innocence of a puppy here...on the contrary, something more ominous...I see a figure wearing a large, exaggerated bow, and what appears a facial mask with large eyes and a pinched or sewn-together mouth, and wearing something akin to a large kimono...I get the sense that beneath this attire is a rather disturbed mind, perhaps Asian, given the white mask and kimono...but maybe I've just seen one too many horror movies:)...all that aside, it is very visually appealing and quite intriguing.
