I walked through the house to the back porch and found the screen door covered top to bottom, side to side, with cats meowing for food. . . . They were so thick on the door I could barely see the light between them.
Earl B. Russell, Cold Turkey at Nine: The Memoir of a Problem Child

In the shop, breathing the scent of dusty grease and oil; in the old house, staring into the living room where Dad and Jake used to take naps together on the couch; in the sheep barn, remembering the joy implicit in so much baaing life; in every inch of the farm, I recalled my father's presence.
Julene Bair, The Ogallala Road: A Memoir of Love and Reckoning

But when we got it filled and covered and drove out the gate and turned into the lane where them fellows was waiting, when they come out and come on him and he jerked back, it was Dewey Dell that was on him before even Jewel could get at him. And then I believed I knowed how Gillespie knowed about how his barn taken fire.

Memories of bygone years brought back by the sight of old familiar surroundings. A nice winter scene well photographed John.

The music from the Deer Hunter is so good John. I could listen to it all night.
Love what you did with the textures in this scene. It's almost like the cats were scratching on it as you did your processing.
Super work with great quotes and I agree with Tigz about it being a good entry should you decide to use it.

John, this B&W photo creates some nostalgic feelings. By editing this photo in this way (electrifying), some 'tension' is created, also because, after reading the quotes, I'm curious about how the residents have fared.
Agree with the comments above that it would be a good entry for the current contest.
If you would decide this, I wish you Good Luck with it.
