You sheltered me from harm
Kept me warm, kept me warm
You gave my life to me
Set me free, set me free
The finest years I ever knew,
Were all the years I had with you
David Gates, Everything I Own

I wonder how you knew
I needed someone just like you
Were you on a beam of guiding light
That came in my life, late that
September night.

And though I try to hold back the years
I cannot hold the dawn
And so I try to hold back the tears
When love has grown up and gone
David Gates, Ann

We're just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here
David Gilmour and Roger Waters, Wish You Were Here

Well, I've been 'fraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm gettin' older, too
Stevie Nicks, Landside

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon
Neil Young, Harvest Moon

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Roberta Flack

Harvest moon, Foxes and Fossils

Wish You Were Here, David Gilmour

John, you have given us another beautiful render full of symbolism.
It is an almost impossible task to determine which quote is the most appropriate for it, because they're all well chosen, but also have their own character.
It's up to the viewer to determine which quote he or she finds the most appropriate one - a difficult task.
I think you're a fan of the Foxes & Fossils, because if I'm right, I've already listened to the Neil Young cover 'Harvest Moon' performed by the Foxes & Fossils on one of your previous renders.
If so, that's not a problem for me, because hearing good music for the second time isn't boring but a pleasure!

This is a beautiful creation John. The sadness of loss comes through like a fog into the bright sunshine of eternal love.
Love the beings standing on the edge of the world waiting to cross over.
Excellent work.

I find the image almost as haunting as Roberta's song. Together they create almost unbearable notstalgia

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
