Those who go to Heaven ride on a pass and enter into blessings that they never earned, but all who go to hell pay their own way.
John R. Rice

I do not fear death. I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.
Mark Twain

In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can't build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery and death.
Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl

Be sure the safest rule is that we should not dare to live in any scene in which we dare not die. But, once realize what the true object is in life ‐ that it is not pleasure, not knowledge, not even fame itself, “that last infirmity of noble minds” ‐ but that it is the development of character, the rising to a higher, nobler, purer standard, the building‐up of the perfect Man ‐ and then, so long as we feel that this is going on, and will (we trust) go on for evermore, death has for us no terror; it is not a shadow, but a light; not an end, but a beginning!
Lewis Carroll, Sylvie and Bruno

If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.
Will Rogers

John, death is still a mystery to me and to most of us. Believers think there's a life after death, often in some spiritual form. However, another category of people thinks that with the death it's all over. However, no one has ever come back to tell us what it is like. We know one thing for sure. Death is inevitable for each of us. My late father used to tell me, "Don't think you're going to be passed over."
To me, your intriguing and beautiful render is a reflection of the uncertainty by facing what can happen to us by the end of our life.
Even if they don't offer the solution, your quotes force us to think about it. Your music links are very well chosen and are very appropriate for this theme!

It is an amazing image and quite mesmerizing - I am just a little concerned about the apparent flames though !
I have needed to spend some time with this one because the music links are all favourites :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
