Nibiru, is Sumerian for the 12th Planet and this huge planet has an elliptical orbit which passes through the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, approximately every 3,500 years.

There the original Sumerian Epic of Creation was translated and revised so that Marduk, the Babylonian national god, was assigned a celestial counterpart. By renaming Nibiru “Marduk” in the Babylonian versions of the creation story, the Babylonians usurped for Marduk the attributes of a supreme “God of Heaven and Earth. ” This version‐the most intact one found so far‐is known as Enuma elish.

The worst aspect of the Velikovsky affair is not that his hypotheses were wrong or in contradiction to firmly established facts, but that some who called themselves scientists attempted to suppress Velikovsky's work. Science is generated by and devoted to free inquiry: the idea that any hypothesis, no matter how strange, deserves to be considered on its merits. The suppression of uncomfortable ideas may be common in religion and politics, but it is not the path to knowledge; it has no place in the endeavor of science. We do not know in advance who will discover fundamental new insights.

John, while humanity is still in the process of conquering/exploiting Mars step by step, you've already taken a big step forward by letting us know what future generations will see on their space voyage. I've learned that between the planets Mars and Jupiter (referring to your title) there are no other planets. Perhaps you've shown us an undiscovered moon in the 'vicinity' of Jupiter. If so, this is an intriguing thought. Time will tell.
Wonderful contribution again. The choice of ingredients (render, quotes and music links) are as always carefully selected.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Mars is well-known as the God of War, and Jupiter (also called Jove) the God of the Sky and Thunder and king of the gods in ancient Roman religion and mythology. Your fractal, John, had the initial appearance for me of a pair of armored warriors, facing off in a temple of some significance. The diagonal slash through the middle of the image appears as a metaphorical sword slash, the stereotypical weaponry of the early Roman Empire. A strong image, John, one I enjoyed interpreting and researching.
