Of course it was Mata's last dance. She wouldn't have chosen a fox trot if she had known that dancing with a hyena was going to be that dangerous. When she was taken by paramedics off the dance floor, I heard her say, "Who knew that hyenas thought toes were hors d'oeuvres. Why didn't I choose a tango?"

Mata Hari, pseudonym of Margaretha Geertruida (Griet) Zelle (Born in Leeuwarden,The Netherlands on August 7th, 1876 and killed in Vincennes, France on October 15th, 1917), was an exotic dancer.
Before the outbreak of the WWI she traveled from a performance in Berlin (Germany) to The Hague (The Netherlands). There she was recruited as agent H21 by the German intelligence service. In May 1916 she left for France, where she offered her services to the French intelligence service. However, the French suspected her of spying for the Germans. She was arrested on February 13th, 1917, and after an extensive investigation was sentenced to death by a military court. A request for clemency from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs was rejected and she was shot dead on October 15th, 1917.

Your wonderful render visualizes perfectly the mysterious and intriguing atmosphere in the world of espionage during WWI.
