Triad

You want to know how it will be
Me and him or you and me
You both stand there, your long hair flowing
Your eyes alive, your mind still growing
Saying to me ‐ what can we do now that we both love you
I love you too, I don't really see
Why can't we go on as three

You are afraid, embarrassed too
No one has ever said such a thing to you
Your mother's ghost stands at your shoulder
Face like ice, a little bit colder
Saying to you ‐ you cannot do that, it breaks
All the rules you learned in school
I don't really see
Why can't we go on as three

We love each other, it's plain to see
There's just one answer comes to me
Sister lovers, water brothers
And in time maybe others
So you see what we can do is to try something new
If you're crazy too, I don't really see
Why can't we go on as three
David Crosby, Triad

Interesting tidbit. The reference to “Water brothers and sisters” was taken from Robert Heinlein's “Stranger in a Strange Land”, a book favorite of David Crosby (and one of mine too).

With Grace Slick singing David Crosby's song: Triad, Jefferson Airplane

With David Crosby of CS&N singing his song live: Triad, Crosby, Stills & Nash

Usually, three's a crowd... Unless you're referring to this classic sitcom...

Well-- "here's another fine mess you've gotten us into" John, lol What's a girl to do? I can see in 'some' instances where something like this could work, but, just on the surface of what I'm seeing here, I don't think it's sustainable. Eventually one, or maybe both of those guys is going to want something more and she'll have to make a choice. Hopefully she makes the right choice and that person will have had the patience to stick around until then. Btw, I like both those groups but in this case, I think I prefer the Jefferson Airplane version. I have also read "Stranger in a Strange Land" but a very long time ago. An overall thought-provoking presentation, to be sure.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

John, if I had been this girl, I wouldn't have wanted to face this impossible choice. A dilemma beautifully visualized by you!
