Interesting interpretation. It is very stark, which strongly focuses your attention on the flower detail. I would like to see it on a dark, velvety background as well - I wonder if that would enhance it even more.

I agree a darker background might make it better. The flower looks too bright with the white background.

I don't know. In a shot like this, I'd give it more balance by splitting the background in half vertically. Half white and half black.
