Straight to you from the ancient city of Tikal where the Mayans predicted that the apocalypse would occur in 2012. I just found out lately that this same temple was on the movie 2012 where the Mayans committed a mass suicide. Down in front of this temple are around 8 rock pillars where they did the human sacrifices. Eery to think about how many people entered the afterlife at this very spot.

Thanks Koca...I looked up other pics of this temple and I haven't seen any that are from this angle. There also isn't many photos in black and white from Tikal which I definitely think adds to the image.

I absolutely love this photo. I love ancient ruins and abandoned places. The black and white color definitely suits this image well. Great picture!

Chris - I think the angle is unique in showing the larger scene with other buildings in the complex. The heavy cloud cover adds to the mystique of the ruins. Thad

Thanks Thad! I also blurred the corners to add to the mystique as well.

Thanks Justin. It is amazing and to do it without any large animals...all my man labor is astonishing.
