This little guy has been living in the tree in my back yard for a few months now. He kicked out all my lovely songbirds and had the nerve take very large community nest. What a brat! I noticed that in the early morning and the late evening/night he's high up in the nest. During the hottest part of the day, he's chillin down below. He likes to lounge around on the lower most branches. So, the other day after the tree had a good soaking, he came down and was so grateful for the cool branches that he smiled and struck a few poses for me, lol. Hope he brings a smile to all your faces! Comments welcome.

Smile it is! Nice capture, and have you noticed the eye in the tree? I am sure it is looking at you to say "Thank you for water!"

Her's very cute and what a pose! And I love the tree in this shot as much as the squirrel! Thanks for telling us about him; that adds to the picture's charm.

More than a smile, I had a few chuckles at his expense! This is fantastic. I'm so glad he let you take this shot. It is so clear and close and I love that tree he hangs out in. No wonder he took it over. He knows prime real estate when he sees it.

Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel. -Josemaria Escriva

Great shot, I've never seen a squirrel "at rest." I like the way you framed him in the tree, with all texture from the bark he looks so soft. Nice job!

Great capture of this troublesome rascal. As an avid birdwatcher I empathize with your story. They drive me crazy ... but on the plus side they have also provided me with some great belly-laughs over the years. Glad you posted this Jessica.

Jessica this is a beauiful sharp shot of your little lazy friend. The texture of the bark is wonderful as is the cute little critter. Just a wonderful compostion. The only little thing that could improve is the saturation. It looks like you were shooting in the afternoon bright sunlight maybe? She's a little washed out. Otherwise perfect. anne :-)

Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)

This is a super picture of the very cute squirrel (we call them rodents around here) Just kidding :) but they can make a mess if you have a lot of them around .
He is making me want to climb a tree and take a nap. You really caught the moment here :)
