1942 : Veterans Day Tribute - Tribute in Memory to a Warrior and Father The soldier in this photo is my father James R. Stewart Sr., He served in WWII, received the purple heart and many other metals in defending the freedom of not just the U.S. but many other countries. He passed away on April 3rd, 2007. He was a wonderful father and a great example to live by. I will forever be greatful for his selfless duty to the cause of freedom and for being such a great husband to my mom and a great father to me and my brothers. Dad, you will live on in my heart and in my soul. I will see you soon. Your son, Scott

Nice manipulation, though I'm not crazy about the flag in the corner. It looks odd to me. Maybe if there were some way to work it differently into the background, or even the table's reflection? Just a thought. Thanks for posting... and for the nice dedication!

I love the manipulation on this. The color is just so great. But I agree with smoosh about the flag. The telephone looks amazing.

I was delighted to find this image-you have some interesting gallery photos. Wow. 1942, the year before I was born. Was the soldier someone close to you? I like the old sepia shade of the image and the arrangement of the items in the picture. The telephone-the bringer of good or bad news. The American flag brings it all together. Very nicely done! More please :*>

That phone brings back memories. Thank YOU for caring about the men and women who fight for America. So many take freedom for granted. There is nothing "free" about freedom. Thank you again.

Thanks all, yeah I might do something a little different with the flag. The man in the photo is my dad. He's still kicking at 84.

Reflection on the table sounds cool.

What a marvelous dedication and Im sure they would be proud. I to think that you should have left the flag out as it symbolises everyone that has fought in wars around the world and the quicker that people realise that there is only one race and that is the hman race the better people will be. Great work
