I saw this car driving down a back road and the rustiness of the car actually looked to me like a beautiful special paint job. Just look at the car and imagine this was a custom paint job. Kinda cool.
That car ain't that old, is it? Why, it almost looks like the one Shady Sam has in the winder of his new car place down on Slimer Street in Green Gulch, Ohia. I was a gonna buy it, but the old woman said she needed a new icebox first, and the car would jus have ta wait. One of these days, I'm a gonna own a beauty like that there car in your picture. I will be the talk of the trailer court fer shore.
The rusty car is very photo-worthy - would love to see a closer shot of the paint job. The little pink object in foreground - could it be removed? But then I guess you can't just go onto people's yards and set up their things for a photo shoot!

Hey, it's Antique Car Show Day at a lot of places this weekend! Looks to me like this might be a 1960 Desoto or thereabouts, with replacement parts from (maybe) somewhere else. Nice tires, if mounted on gloriously mismatched wheels. Bet it still "runs good". And is not vulnerable to theft! Photographically, this car (to me) represents a Dichotomy...nice on top but threadbare on the bottom. Or maybe Old-Fashioned Virtues. Very interesting pic!
What a great shot of an 1955 Dodge Coronet my mother and I drove one with more paint and less rust for years it was still running when the body fell off.
Saved and faved.
