This image shows the Westhove Castle. In the past I've posted already some images of this castle, but think this is a better one.

The castle is situated between the villages of Domburg and Oostkapelle in the northern part of the peninsula Walceren, Zeeland, The Netherlands. It was built in the beginning of the 13th century, but since that time often (partly) destroyed and changed. During WW II the castle was again heavily damaged. In 1948 the outside of the castle was repaired, followed in 1977 by a thorough restoration of its interiors. Because of all these changes not much remains of the real medieval castle. The castle as shown on this image mostly dates back to the 17th and 18th century.

Hope you'll enjoy this image. Thank you in advance for your comment.

I personally like a lot castle and abbeys.
This one is very well restored and that is part of the history to be maintained.
I wonder whether Westhove is the name of the noble family.

Like to answer Ed's question, brought forward in his comment above. Although some Dutch families have this name, in this case the castle 'Westhove' is not named after a noble family. A 'hove' or 'hof' in Dutch is an ancient (large) garden with or without woods. When a rich family owned more of such gardens, each garden got a different geographical name like eastern garden (Oosthof), northern garden (Noordhof), and so on. In the time of emperor Napoleon, everyone should have a family name. It was not unusal that people who worked at such a garden were taking then the same name as the name of the garden.
Westhove is the most western 'hof' in our country, as the North Sea is just one mile further.

Very well composed image with great clarity. Strikingly beautiful with that blue sky behind. The reflection in the water of course adds much to the attraction of this photo. Well done again, my friend.

Looking at the castle today you would never believe it had ever been damaged. I like the angle you took it from on such a clear blue sunny day. At least you have castles to visit in the US we have none. The oldest building dates back to the early 1600s and was nothing fancy. nice capture

It's all been said Mr C, comp is spot on, colours are spot on. I fear that maybe the castle slants to the left a bit but I didn't check it so I might be wrong.
