You can clearly see by the seaweed on the embankment at the left side of this image, that this canal is subject to tides. It connects the town of Zierikzee, Zeeland, the Netherlands directly with the Eastern Scheldt. Because of the Eastern Scheldt Storm Surge Barrier, the difference between ebb and flood is limited.

Hope you'll like this image. Thanks in advance for your comment.

Cornelius - You have captured a beautiful scene. The lines of this single point horizon focus lead the eye down the canal, past the buildings on both banks to the distant buildings and trees. Wonderful photography, my friend. Thad

First of all, Cornelius, I love that border. The tidal surge is pretty gigantic. If you ever had flash flooding from a torrential downpour, the folks beyond the wall on the left might find themselves with severe water damage or no house.

Picture postcard perfect. Your sense of composition doesn't hurt the excellence of this shot one bit.
