Without electrical insulation a short circuit will be the result. A decoupled coaxial cable however can even bring people in isolation!

Very interesting subject and a great shot Mr. C. I like the black & white. Good luck in the contest. (Uncanny - I don't think you could have planned this so well; however, the Caedes streak is positioned at the left at the very spot where your cable begins - perfection!)
