Seems that the wind turbines have covered their feet with a blanket to protect them from the cold. In reality it's the mist rolling in from the North Sea.

This image was captured on January 19th, 2015 on top of a sand dune on the peninsula North-Beveland (Zeeland, The Netherlands) just close at sunset. Left on the image the beach is shown.

Very nice shot with the wind turbines against the red sky and the low mist Cornelius.

The turbines appear to be floating in the sea mist - giving a mysterious look to the image.
You took advantage of the conditions and created a beautiful picture Cornelius.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

You seem to have a lot of 'ground fog' there!....it does make for lots of eerie drama too!

I like the effect this has done here, and you snapped it very well!

You have made the wind turbines actually look appealing in this, Mr. C. I love the way they are standing tall through the mist as the sun goes down. This is another one of your shots that I wish I could call my own. Amazing work.

Beautifully composed with the soft pastel colors as a backdrop for the turbines. The dune grass works well in the foreground. Lovely photography Cornelius.

This must be an eerie sight Mr. C. - but I love the soft peach and aqua tones in this - just lovely.

Mist makes for such different coloring and you make the most of it SEA.
The turbines look like they are at rest.
Beautiful scene per always.

Mr. C. - the fog is the main component that takes your image to a whole new level and is simply breathtaking!!! Love the layers of natural tone/colors/hues. Photographed and presented so beautifully as always Mr. C.

Somehow I missed this one (saw it featured on the home page, far right). Wow, wow, and wow. We have numerous large fields of these generators in North Dakota because there is so much wind here (our state legislature seems to always be in session) and I always love fog photos so of course this shot is now in my favorites file.

Plus now I get to be your twentieth comment (see how I craftily worked that to my advantage?). I did make out the beach in the lower left before I read your post.
