I've seen and captured these holyhocks on a inland embankment/levee somewhere on the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands.

My F² entry for this week.

Beautiful, I like the way the sun shines on them, makes them look waxy.

My hubby loves hollyhocks - he remembers them from his youth as they aren't seen as much these days - beauties Mr. C.

I think hollyhocks are greatly underrated - they are beautiful, these bright red ones especially.,

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Hollyhocks remind me of my childhood and my Grandmothers' backyard...I used to pick a flower, turn it upside down, then attach one of the buds so it would look like a little lady in a flowing gown:)...great shot of these ones.
