This shot was taken at December 7th, 2019 on a photo shoot in Amsterdam, the capital of my small country (The Netherlands) on the occasion of the light festival, edition # 8 there (version 2019/2020 with the central theme 'Disrupt!').

This time no photo of the 'Disrupt!' theme however, but one taken on the way to the festival. Depicted is the Rembrandt Square, named after the famous Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn (1606 - 1669). His most famous painting is the 'De Nachtwacht' ('The Night Watch'), painted in 1642.

When you check-out the above 'The Night Watch' link, you can see on this Wiki page a picture of this painting. The persons (and the little dog) can been seen too as black sculptures on the Rembrandt Square as depicted in my image. The gray sculpture behind the 'The Night Watch' sculptures is a sculpture of the master himself.

I am impressed, Cornelius. Oh, how I would like to walk around those sculptures and enjoy their company. You are really lucky people with great artists like Rembrandt. I like art and artists, my second subject at the University was art history.

The Nigh Watch is one painting I used to look again and again (in print, not original). Very nice shot of this lovely scene from Amsterdam Cornelius. Sharp details overall too.

What a great depiction of Rembrandt's painting Cornelius - although the display is in statue form, it is so impressive in showcasing the great artist's work and how it appears to come to life - Excellent Capture and Narrative!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
