Depicted (on October 31th, 2020) is the St. Lawrence Church in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

This church was built between 1449 and 1525. By checking-out this link one can see that during WWII the church was heavily damaged by German bombardment. The damage was that worse that one had the intention to demolish the church, but the former Dutch Queen Wilhelmina halted this initiative. Funds were raised for rebuilding the church to its original stage. The restoration took a couple of years and was completed in 1968.

The spot where the church is located, is an 'oasis' of rest in the middle of the city center of Rotterdam.

That church has seen some history for sure. It looks beautiful against that wonderful sky. the information is interesting and somewhat sobering. It reminds us of the horrors that were and we can only hope will never be again. Presently I don't know about it. Good capture, Cornelius.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
