The owner of this floating mobile home - situated in one of the canals of Middelburg (a town in Zeeland, The Netherlands) - has searched and found compensation for the lack of a garden. The available room on the roof of his/her floating mobile home was fully occupied with flowers and garden ornaments/sculptures. Apparently this wasn't sufficient because a part of the quay where he/she was laying, is covered with these attributes too.

I do not have a green thumb so I must admit that because I am very ignorant to the needs of our soiled friends. I was wondering if the water in the canal is salted, sea water or is it unsalted? And, if it is salted, can his/her plants drink salt water? Sorry, things that cross my mind while still on my first cup on morning coffee!

John, the water in the canal is salty. But the owner has a rain barrel which, however, isn't visible in this photograph. He/she also has a permanent drinking water connection too.

Just because you don't have a traditional house doesn't mean you can't have a garden - here's the proof. What a delightful capture Mr. C. - a true gardener will always find a way!

Back some years I lived in a mobile home but it was not anything like this...and neither did it float. That is quite pretty, Cornelius!
