This capture was taken at a storm at sea in the vicinity of the peninsula Walcheren, Zeeland, The Netherlands.
The howling wind created not only a pretty high 'sea state' but a thin layer of sea water droplets just above the waves as well, so causing a certain blur. Because of the weather conditions the threatening sky and the shoreline weren't almost visible too.
Therefore it may, from photographic point of view, not be the optimal image, but on the other hand shows it the impact of these severe weather conditions and how the seamen are struggling in doing their responsible job (being a maritime pilot to guide seagoing vessels to and from the adjacent ports in a safe way).
It's my contribution for the 'water' contest. It's a long time ago that I participated in these Caedes-contests, but when I read Bruce his request, I'll give it a try again.
