This night-shot shows the 'Groot Vleeshuis' (Great Butchers' Hall) in Ghent, Belgium. This hall was originally a covered market. It dates back to the 15th century and was in that time the central place where meat was inspected and traded. The reason for having a butchers' hall was because of forbidding selling meat 'door-to-door' in the Middle Ages.
