We had the most amazing snowfall last night, it was all over the trees, and cold enough the a good part of the river froze. somehow i managed to get a 1/13th second exposure at 11:00 in the morning to make all the ice flowing in the river nice and blurred. The water was really that colour!

A very pretty image, I just wish the water wasn't so much there, I find it a bit distracting. But that's just me. Other than that, this is a beautiful image.

I love that you're on the other side from the direction of the snowfall. From this side you get to see the tiny branches tracing through the crystals. Great color in the water to back it with and set the branches apart.

Very well thought out and composed Carl. This is a personal keeper and inspiration for me when I move back to winterland;-)

Interesting. I thought i would pop my head into the new image gallery, and i see this one sitting there and im like, hmm, that looks like it could be carl, but it couldn't be because he doesn't post anything anymore, so before i moved my mouse onto it i thought ill check it out and then see if he has anything yet. And then to my suprise it accutally was you:P.

Anyways, i like the green in the water. It really makes it different. Also im guessing it is ice floating down stream? That is pretty cool looking. Im looking forward to seeing what else you came out with on your trip down to the river.

I was just looking through the new images, and I thought to myself "I haven't seen a really great image to vote and comment on in a while". Then I saw this. It is, to me, a mixture of photographic excellence, and photographic abstract (the water). I really like this image, and it's going to get a ten (which I very rarely give out), although there is, in my eyes, a slight alteration that could be made here. Maybe upload the original without the border - I don't know what everyone else would sey, but if you did, I'd give it an eleven out of ten (if it were possible!). I love how the sun catches and illuminates the snow from behind on the branches, and just the composition is unique and outstanding. Great work!

I think it looks very good, nicely exposed and sharp too. A terrific looking DT.

The short time exposure gives a painted brushstroke effect, and gives an emphasis to the foreground, well done.
