Oh, it's nice, but I don't really like the portrait format...

Note I did not say the V word! But seriously, I really like the lighting here, both in the sky and on the snow... it seems to have a bit of a glow to it... Obviously this photo wouldn't work any way but vertically. Ooops there's that word again!!

What ever you say this picture looks great in vertical. It got that magical look and would be perfect for fairy-tale book cover. Well done!

It's a fine picture. I like the dramatic sky and the framing is excellent. Three cheers for the vertical format when it is appropriate.

I like how the composition draws you into the picture. I don't think this shot would have worked as a horizontal. Don't worry about the framing and borders, do what you think works best. Besides I've got so much junk on my desktop I can't see anything anyways. lol.

I very much LIKE the portrait format. I post in portrait sometimes and I know what you mean about the feedback. Some shots just don't lend themselves to a landscape. Off the soapbox though...
The lighting in this shot itself is tremendous and the way the tree hangs into the shot is adds to the composition. Nice shot.

No complaints. It is a good picture V and all. Many of mine have to be V also.

Lovely shot. Too bad there isn't a portrait option on Caedes. There are some of us who use computers with a monitor in portrait position. :)

Very realistic image Carl. The way you capture the winter landscape is awesome. I know from experience that these areas can be somewhat unattractive in winter. You've done a fabulous job bringing out the beauty in it. Excellent!

There are some advantages to images of "this orientation." Room for desktop icons, for example. I do wish, though, that folks would leave a little more room at the bottom for my toolbar/taskbar (whatever it's called), so the bottom portion of the frame isn't covered.

Not much i can really say other then this is really well done. I think it is good because you have the cool sky and such, but then you also have the tree to add an interesting subject. It also comes out of the corners and such which works with those composition rule.

I don't mind the vertical format. In fact the photography albums usually contain as many vertical as horizontal captures. But here in Caedes we can present them only with borders - which is good for desktop reasons, enough room for icons. So I guess I have just found a new desktop.

I felt like I wanted to fall into this picture and see what was going on. I have no quarrel with the format at all.

I think the photo itself is excellent, and even the framing looks pretty good. But for people who don't have autohide taskbar setting the black above the frame is shown and the black below is basically where your taskbar is, so it just has a feeling like its positioned wrong. and also only the top of your name shows because its covered by the taskbar (although i dont like seeing people's names on their work in such a bold manner anyways). I guess with everyone having custom desktops you can't really adjust the position of the frame correctly to match everyone's settings. I thought i'd just say those few things, besides those i think its an awesome photo
