i dont know, but you can see many effects of it here, the neat snowdrifts, the cornice, and the wispy clouds.

The wind results from change in atmospheric pressure from the higher levels to the lower results, resulting in movement we call wind. :) It's all about isobars. About the picture, it's another soon to be classic!

Very impressive capture, the low angle has emphasised the detail of the patterns in the snow and these lead very nicley into the rest of the image. A great composition, high marks from me.

Cheers...........

OMG ... this takes my breath away ...
Perfection lies here in simplicity and compactness of presentation [which I am crazy about LOL].
10/10 and in my HD file of favourite desktop images.
Thank you and congratulations, Carl.

Great shot Carl...Maybe it's because I looked a "Burstall Pass 360" first, but I think this would look cool with a little cropped off the top and bottom making it look more like a panorama. Just an idea!

Beautiful clarity that shows off the vastness of the mountains - a clear winner. Into my favourites. Superb comparison of fore and background give it that previously mentioned depth. The whites and blues are so pure too. Its safe to say you are gonna get a few high marks for this one lol.

I don't know how many more original things I can say about your winter images. Another great shot, as they all are. Simply the best.

This is a breathtaking shot and I can feel the wind whipping my face to a beet red complexion if I were in this one -- unbelievable! Thanks for sharing with us!
