There is a very funny story attached to the top of this waterfall, where the flood we were paddling in had washed out the normal portage-start, so we were having trouble stopping at the shear-grassy shore. a small (1') ledge ahead made my dad shout "get down we're going over", which my mom interpereted as: "We're all going to die" thinking about the waterfall roaring ahead. so she litterally jumped out of the canoe in order to drag the canoe over to shore...she ended up being the one getting helped onto shore...many a good belly laugh was had ;)

A great pic. I don't know that I would want to go down that in a canoe...not with a camera anyway. A fine job.
