this is the night before we did our 2nd day of backpacking off the Nahanni river up the pass just to the right of the cloud-shrouded peak in the middle there.
Spectacular scenery, Carl! Your tent gives a sense of scale to the shot and I like the way you composed it. See any grizzlies up there? Thanks for another great desktop! :)
"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web." Pablo Picasso
I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings:
And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill.
That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes.
We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not.
Yet so the universe was wrought .
Thought is another name for fate.
Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.
Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.
Edward Weston
Great picture ! Magnificient landscape where the wet weather brings nice colors. But it might not be the best weather for the climb... Thanks for sharing ! :)
That's an amazing picture: it's like some orange flying saucer lands on a rocky mountains planet! The clouds add a lot to the pictures! I'd like to shot such pics of yours. You are gifted.
Your images were of the first that had caught my eye way, way back when here on Caedes.
Kind of take it for granted that I can always return to your galleries for photos like yours on this page here.
You could not have scripted a better shot for your title and concept. Excellent work.
My only caveat? Minor at best ... your choice of type/font, lol. Don't mind me, just kidding a little ... a little. Think something sans serif would be better suited. Typography ... another art in and of itself.
However ... with the quality of your shot here? Think I can overlook it. ;o)
no small gravel banks like this are the best for pitching tents. a thermarest easily absorbs the little rocks, they drain when it rains, dont get your stuff dirty, are nice and level, and the wind keeps the bugs off
