A lot of people have wanted to see the original image of this so here it is. The blue was due to the early morning light - no manipulation. In fact, at this stage of my photographic career I was totally flabbergasted to find everything so blue and just couldn't understand it.

I must say, I prefer the original... An amazing photo. Very good shot.

I like this one. Its quite magical and interesting to view. The big black part on the left is damaging the image big time and I'am trying to imaging the scene without it lol.

I have to agree with pryanthab...if that big black tree were blue also, it would be a perfect photo. The darkness just distract from the rest of the beautiful scene. Verena

I disagree. I like the tree just the way it is. It adds to the moody feeling. Amazing capture.

This is absolutely stunning! I don't think the dark tree distracts at all - I think it gives the eye a starting point and a base in realism that leads to the mystical water and fog. The blue is magical. Well done!

Hummmmmmmm...I like the blue treatment here but I think it occured as a result of a wrong camera setting. Perhaps the white balance was off. This is early morning midst or fog and should have been white-ish. But, like I said, looks good this way. Very nice, Darrell.

Well, in a sense I think you're right Pat. It probably could have been "corrected" by a different white level, but rules are meant to be broken and I think this is the place where the textbook "wrong" camera setting was actually "right" (although I have to say that I was totally unaware of any of this at the time the shot was taken - I'd like to say I carefully planned this but in reality it was just plain dumb luck).

Whoa!! Great shot!! Me, I actually like the dark tree on the left as it gives a sense of depth to the overall piece. A grand place to be for sure!!

Picture Purrrfect . A purrrfect world is what we all want, but, seems too unobtainable. If I've viewed and commented on your post, and you liked my remarks then NO THANKS is needed...just getting to see your wonderful work is thanks enough for me!! Also BIG thanks to all who check out my work!! I appreciate any and all comments & feedback!!

Can't help thinking of "A river runs through it" movie. Regardless of what the ultimate goal was, this is a fabulous shot. The angle and lighting looks great, especially on the tree to the left where it hits the water drops.
