Here's my entry to the current contest "Beauty in Decay". This is a shot of Heidelberg castle in Germany. This castle dates back to 1214 AD and was slowly destroyed by subsequent Wars and fires. Throughout the centuries rebuilding the castle was attempted, the last time was in 1764 when the castle was struck by a bolt of lighting starting another fire.

I love this shot of the castle. And my husband (who was an army brat), who has been all over the world, says you should go down into the basement. He says there's a two story tall wine cask in there. lol

I was here too, a long time ago !The old city (Alt stat) of Heidelberg is very nice, and you did a great job shooting this castle image
