Actually a friend of mine took this image,
while we where on a boat and many of these birds
were flying very near to get some food. The shot was taken
using a Cannon G3, the very next day after it was bought ...
Thank you very much for your kind comments, but I think that we were very lucky ...
Regarding the comment of g8way, actually it was a small ferry, not a small boat.
I had never seen this before and I am in AWE of its beauty! We have many seagulls here at the Pacific Ocean in Oregon..but this photo you took is sooooooooooo beautiful! I know the gulls fly very close to boats because they watch for food being thrown..well, they hope for some I think..tell your friend he did a wonderful job on this picture...thank you for posting it.
Hi, this image is remarkably beautiful in every respect! The colors, the clarity, are stunning, but most of all, I am impressed with the skills of the photographer! You used them to the fullest extent and produced an image to behold! Sincerely, Marilyn
Oh wow! I mean WOW! What a shot. You were either very fortunate and darn good to get that bird in such sharp focus while in flight. I do wish the water would have been more in focus as well but don't ask me. I wouldn't be able to do it most likely.
I love the expression on that birds face, rather serious, don't you think? Sort of like the bird is saying, "I dare you to be underneath me"!
Did you take it???
