(I stole the title from Supertramp.) It is amazing how quiet life is when the ground is covered in snow. I was reminded of this pic when “lindyking” posted “Which Way Should I Go?” I to was out looking for a way to capture the unusual white stuff in 2004. This is near a creek in our area. My Fuji S2 was unable to comprehend this new substance so the white balance shifted on me. However the effect is pleasant so I went ahead and left the blue tones.

Hi Don, I like this photo and your treatment of it very much! To me, the winter with it's cold temps, it's clean quiet solitude is wonderful. It is difficult to describe the feelings and thoughts I experience while running in the snow. It is so much fun, and there is just me. Hey, maybe that's it, simplistically said! Sincerely, Marilyn

aaaaw... romantic, isn't it? :)) i would like to make snow angels there :D
i think it looks better with this blue shades.. it can be a great wallpaper now, it would be too bright if everything was white ( i prefer darker ones, but this one's wonderful..) those trees look amazing, details are great and the whole "spirit" of the image is brilliant.. a bit mysterious, a bit romantic and magical. great effect, wonderful scene and an amazing image :)

I generally prefer macros for my desktops, but for this I can make an exception. :)
I'm a native Floridian, so I reallly don't like winter much, but snow sure can create some beautiful landscapes. Some of the best photography comes out of accidental shots like this. The blue overall tone gives it an incredible sort of fantasy look to it, which I very much like.

The winter hasen't come here yet but when this happen "Even in the Quietest" will be the wallpaper for my desktop. This untrodden snow is wonderful! Great job!
