This is a photo, taken with good old film in a Minolta SLR, that I am resubmitting after tweaking it according to some suggestions I received. The idea was to simplify the composition to let the main rose strut its stuff with less distraction from another budding competitor. As noted previously, I took the photo because it was my first encounter with a rose of these colors. Place: Butchart Gardens, B.C.
First of all, you really get around. Yesterday's posting was Florida and today it's British Columbia. I expect to see a Greek Island sunset tomorrow with the Eiffel Tower in the foreground.
Secondly, you said that this is a resubmittal but I checked your gallery and don't see the original. I am a feeble minded old man; so don't be playing mind games on me, you young whipper snapper.
Thirdly, I'm pretty knew at this; but you can take a photo with a 35mm camera and get a digital photo?
Finally, wonderful flower photo. I really like the silky feel of the composition. There's excellent detail in the flower petals with an ever so softness at the same time. Great technique. The dark blurred background really makes the flower pop. Since I am unable to shoot a flower in focus, I have only second hand knowledge from more practiced Caedes friends that the flower should "pop"; so that's a good thing. So you have a wonderfully well focused composition with right on depth of field, excellent clarity and detail and splendid colors.
Looking forward to tomorrow's Greek Island's sunset. :-)
