The contrast between the blue and the brown is really sharp in this image. It accentuates the slope of the hillside, and really works well. There is an interesting and highly informative story about Peta in National Geographic from somewhere back around 1998. or 1999.

Great picture. The framing works well with it too.

petra.. yes, it is fascinating.. i read some sad parts about it.. uncaring tourists tend to chissel inscriptions in those rocks and they are in grave danger. also, more than 4000 tourists a day wander through those tombs and wear away thew soft red sadnsrone to powder and sometimes scratch their names into the rock. it's sad to have beautiful sites like this ruined.. i would love to visit petra and i hope you had a great time there. i hope they'll wind a way to protect this ancient creation.

and for the image.. they look majestical.. it's monochromatical, apart from the sky and i love those shades.. i bet it's a wonderful site to see in person.

thank you for giving us a virtual tour with the series, i'll check them out ;)
have a nice day! :)
