The city of Ronda, Spain is located on a rocky platform towering above the valley of the River Guadalevin. The river divides the medieval from the 18th century part of the city. The gorge is spanned by the New Bridge built in 1793 in the shape of a huge wedge. Right on the edge of the gorge there are "hanging houses"

This city (and Your photo as well) is just incredible. I haven't seen anything like that in my life. I wish I was there - especially now, when Poland is dark, wet and quite cold...

Hi Eko, this really brings back nice memories to me!
When I was 24 (last year...) I arrived in Ronda with my girlfriend (now wife). We was backpacking and had a hard day when we walked onto the village's plaza.
And there was the best flamengo party I ever saw! About a hundred dancers were putting up an incredible show.
And that was the best party I ever had in Spain!
So thanks for bringing it back to me and lifting my spirit!

Well well well have a look at that, great shot from the bottom looking up mighty fine !
Heard of hanging gardens, but not of hanging houses before, that's a first. The perspective is just great, your eye gets atracted to all sorts of details, like the building style, the bridge, the waterfall below it, just perfect again Ewa !

What I like About This Composition: The perspective. Good heavens, you got it all in one picture. Those little tiny houses way up there on the edge of the cliffs. The great focus-clear and sharp. The natural colors. The deep blue sky.
Suggestions For Improvement: I'll pass. It's perfect.
Conclusion: I'll live right down here where I is. If I moved up there, we would have an earthquake within the hour.

Gorgeous shot here. My wife and I have been to Ronda twice but I've never got a photo as good as this one. Did you walk down there or did you go by car? The walk back up would be a nightmare in the heat prevelant in the area. In my favourites now. Thanks for posting this.

This is just magnificient my friend !! The architecture and those wonderful arches....its just awesome. I sit here and study it and look at each tiny detail...I cant even begin to imagine anyone living or visiting these tho...sooooooooo precariously perched they are!! But to view them from this angle is just fantastic. Its so amazing how the trees still grow right into the rock formations too. I was wondering if thats a small waterfall I see, or what, I cant quite make out what it is. Thank you for such a grand posting!! Verena
